.net Money Handling Issue

I was writing a small personal accounting software for tracking all my money transactions. I decided to do it in vb.net
(my fav nd the easy one) . I used SQL compact edition to strore the data in local db file. Everything went fine and worked well, but when i testing the application against worst case scenarios i found i a bug. Its the overflow of integer (int64) when dealing with large money, also arithmetic of large money resulted in some strange results due to rounding problem in doubles, the available solution were using decimal type or SQL money type, but both were 64bit overflow problem persists, so decided to implement my own money class , here the integral part is stored in array of bytes representing each digit and a decimal type to represent the floating part, the main issue with this implementation is one byte is required to represent a digit. The class defines operators +,-,* all implemented pure paper pen work method, Since my app is very small and deals with small amounts i decided not to worry about the memory , If someone want to compact the memory more one easy way will be packing the digits like binary packed BCD . the class is attached below

Game Explorer Offline PC Fix

If you are a windows visa/seven user you might have heard about Game Explorer. It is windows component which keep a small record off what type of games you play in your pc. It pull out the game rating and some info from the web. It is nice feature if the pc is under parental control where we need to block children from games having extreme violence or explicit contents. But the bad news is that game explorer can 't be disabled completely even if you have a SYSTEM account , the reason is there is no option to disable it. Off course you have a menu with options in game explorer where you can choose "NEVER check online updates or news, I'll do this manually" . I think Microsoft overruled the meaning of word 'NEVER', When you start any game (even if you disable the online check) for the first time game explorer try to report it to bill gates. This is not a big issue for a pc with internet connectivity. In an offline system what happens is that if game Explorer fails to find Bill gates it won't allow you start the game. It won't allow you play the game till it contact bill gates at least once. I found a method to bypass this we require a good process manger program, here I used my favourite Process Explorer
Start the game from start menu or where ever it is, If you get the game working on a offline machine you are lucky because Microsoft didn't understand that you are starting a game. else the game won't run and you may be prompted to dialup if you have one. Open the process explorer and make sure that there is a process corresponding to your game. Then Launch the game again there you go the game will start. But if you check the process explorer you can see two instance of the game . Kill the one which has rundll32.exe as child process( Here in my case it is Process with process ID 3896. Make sure to use option "Kill Process Tree (Shift+ del) " or you will have to kill the corresponding rundll32.exe manually if you allow rundll32.exe to run sometimes it will eat you cpu core, but if you finished your game and closed it, if you want to relaunch the game you don't have to do all this step it will load the game without any problem provided the corresponding rundll32.exe is still running

Fall of a mobile

Though i developed reliance plugin for iproxy , i was unable to test it since i didnt have a working reliance connection. So i brought a new SIM from local store. To my bad luck there was no signal inside my house. so i climb up the terrace got one block signal in my phone. So decided to start test reliance module and found out that problem was reliance proxy was using chunked transfer encoding scheme. i already had developed another module that handles chunked encoding so just copy paste will do the fixing. Then i decided to walk around reliance network. To my big surprise i found Reliance is providing EDGE signal ( Airtel doesnt ;( ) . I got excited up to a very high level that mobile slipped out of my hand and touched level zero with a significant velocity on highly rough surface. The worst part is that i didnt put my phone's back cover resulting phone's front panel to separate upon strike. The display popedout of the frame pulling out the connector along with the connector base breaking some of the prints in PCB. Resulting the phone totaly useless, leaving me with no phone, no internet connectivity. So I had to stall all my mobile phone development till i get a new phone.

Firefox InAir

There are lot of trick to browse freely through Airtel Live ( GPRS service from Bharti Airtel) Connected to PC. Most popular is SSL proxy site + proxifier or Some modified Tunnel Software + Additional Browser Tweaking or infamous your-freedom client. Some time before airtel blocked ssl through airtel live causing most of the common trick to dead state. This lead to discovery of many web to mobile page rendering service that are included in the whitelist of proxy "100.1.200.99". These service are either running their web application in non standard HTTP ports ( Uceweb) or they are content provider for airtel (yahoo search) or some parter ship with airtel network ( Google ). Out of the the most popular was http://wap.google.com/gwt/n/, when i found this i had wrote a greasemonkey script but i didnt like it the rendering and it doesnt work well with response type like wml or wmls, so i left the plan to develop it further. Yesterday i found someone talking about another service from indiatimes in Gourav's forum so i decided to check it. I found it much better than google rendering and it works well with wap sites ( almost perfect ) so i decided modify my script. But i encountered another issue with this service is its response id forwarding links to another service which is not free in airtel live , also the image ( tough mobile rendered ) it reside in the non free serivce. so i decided to over come this problem . I fired my first goal in 2 hrs by adding specific listners and functions to modify the page to a 'free' page. I found some amazing things in userscripting and firefox i got interested i thought i will make my script to an extension. I tried some userscript compiler and everything went fine but the extension has very few ( almost zero interactivity ). So decided to make my own extension for firefox. I pulled some tutorials from web and the completed my extension. and gave a funny name InAir ( Indiatimes in Airtel ). Plugin works almost ok.

Since my collage completed and sitting free in home with very slow Airtel MO( no EDGE here ). i started to port the j2me smpp app to python and tested on nokia 6630 ( s60v2 ) and Nokia e71 ( s60 os 9.1). It worked without any issue on both except for os 9.1 selfsigning.
Now i am devloping a python based proxy server for s60 , i hope i could complete it the main issue is low system resource in mobile.. see you all soon

Activate Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 with key file

Recently i downloaded kaspersky internet security 2010 version from kaspersky site. I had KIS 2009 already running in my system, upgrading it automaticaly took the alredy installed license during KIS 2010 installation. When i deleted the licence key, i couldnt find activate the application using the key file. There is only for activating using activation code and activate trial. Then a question striked me how do they activate the offline systems ??( machines with no internet connectivity )
so i got trick to activate the app in offline mode

Procedure

1.Dissconnect all the internet connections you have
2.Open Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 window
3.Click on the "Licence" text in the bottom of the widow to bring licence manager
4.Click "Activate new Licence"
5.On the new window select "Activate trial Licence" ( if you cant find this option goto step 6) goto step 8
6.click "cancel" button
7.In Licence manager window delete any licence by clicking on red cross on right side of licence . then proceed with step 4
8.Press "next" button
9.It will show dialog " connecting to activation server..."
10.then it will throw an error with some error message , ignore it click "OK"
11.Surprised there you go now we have file select box asking key file
12.press "Browse" and select your key file
13.Click "Next"
14.If your key file is valid you will have the new licence installed
15.Click "Finish"

The above procedure is tested on Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 version (kis9.0.0.459EN) hope this will be work on similar products like kav 2010 etc

disable / enable nic for x64

When i was controlling my modem with my .net app i had to disable and enable network card to make the changes to nic .in 32 bit os i was able to disable/ enable network card with powerfull utility devcon from microsoft. but in 64 bit os 32bit devcon works partially , it cant disable/ enable devices always results in failure. Though microsoft provided a 64 bit version of devcon it was built for ia64 processors it wont work in my amd64 processor. so i had to search for another solution. google took me to autoit forums where some do the same with running scripts so i studied their codes ( i must say autoit is powerfull) and wrote a small commandline utility named 'nicci'.

usage

1) nicci -l
list all the network adapter names

2) nicci -e Network1
enable network connection named "Network1"
3) nicci -d Network1
disable network connection named "Network1"

Last two months i have been trying windows seven beta on my new machine. Its looks pretty cool and stylish OS. I tried both 64 and 32 bit versions of build 7000 and 7057. build 7000 was ok and 64 bit was better performer. i was able to play CoD4 , HL2 etc without glitches. but with 7057 had some sound glitches with CoD4 and NFS undercover was lagging. seven supported openGL versions upto 2.1 extensions fully and some v3 extensions only with latest (beta ) drivers from nvidia . meantime vista supported opengl v3 extensions fully and cod nd undercover running smoothly at my maximum resolution 1440x900.

Adobe website wont allow download their product using regular download mangers. Instead they will pullup a java based download manger. To bypass this create an adobe id and signin to the website. after succesful login paste download url to the address bar

Airtel Fixed (Almost ) SSL

Looks like airtel has fixed their ssl for south also.. No more proxy tunneling works in kerala since 3 weeks. But some times it works, if u get a 403 error disconnect current connection make a new one.. try on it.. retry if it fails again. usually it works within 5 to 8 retries in mobile. Remebr do not drop that connectn..

J2ME proxifier test version

I have developed a test version of j2me version of https tunnel software named jCap. Though it works , its speed in processing request is terrible. may be because of slow processor and memory of my mobile.
Basic working
It is small multi-thread http proxy sever listen on port 8080 of your mobile ( since its not possible to hook the api calls from j2me programme i had to do it as proxy server). Need to set up your mobile browser to use proxy 127.0.0.1 port 8080. It accept GET and POST requests and procees them then tunnel thrugh the proxy 100.1.200.99. Currently there is no option to change this listning port and proxy i didnt developed gui for it. I found that it not practical to make such software on j2me platform. So i had to stop developing further. Developers can request the source code if you are intersted. You can download test version here

Set Up Opera Mini (Modded version) Tunnel In Airtel Live Free Browsing

In some airtel network circles its possible to browse free through opera mini. Requirements are

Opera mini Mod version (here i used v2)
A pc with internet connection.
Your computer IP should be public IP.

Procedure

First thing u need to set up a portfarding in your computer with internet connectivity to one opera mini server. U should setup listening port as any port other than 80,8080 and other http ports.. lets say 9342

Dowload opera mini mod to your mobile phone.

Why Tea shark Is Free in Airtel Live

Many of airtel live users know about Teashark a java browser through which ree internet browsing is possible. Tea shark is a J2ME browser similar to Famous Opera mini . But unlike opera mini Teashark browsing is free. Anyone wondered why?? Here is the answer

Its based on cgi proxy in teashark server usually serve.teashark.com is the default server(like server.operamini.com ) but the difference between operamini and teashark is theserver port they use .Opera mini uses port 80 fot http based connections and 1080 for socks connections (global ports ) where as teashark uses port 8913. wen its connected its makes a POST request to /cgi-bin/echo.cgi with encoded url requests and other details. Opera mini does the same method except mostly its based on GET request. Then why teashark is free??? Its all because the bad configuration of airtel ******** gateway (NOT the PROXY 100.1.200.99)

Windows XP SP3 High Definition Audio Driver and Modem Missing

Anyone tried a fresh install of windows xp sp3 may face a problem installing sound and modem driver.. Its because SP3 doesn't have system bus driver for High Definition Audio devices. It was KB835221 (for SP1) or the KB888111 (for SP1 or SP2). both wont work on SP3. I faced this problem when downgrading a hp dv 6790 laptop from windows vista to xp.
Before installing ur audio driver u have to install this from device manager. Download it from the link

Extract the zip file. Then go to device manager u will find a device with a yellow question mark device on other devices . right click and upgrade the driver from specific location . browse to the folder where you extracted zip archive. complete the installation. Now u can install the audio driver without any problems

Note: Its only of High Definition Audio chipsets.

Recovering Windows XP/Vista passwd Part 2

Ophcrack is another useful utility to recover windows passwords. Its available in two versions live cd and single software.
Opcrack uses rainbowtable method to challenge against nt/lm hashes stored in sam/system registry.
here we r going to use live cd version
download opcrack from

download xp iso or vista iso from download site..
burn the iso to cd.
boot from the cd drive.
bingo.. it may take some time to recover password from nt/lm hashes
Recovery depends on rainbow table character set and complexity of password... so if u need to crack a complex passwd u need a big rainbow table store
never mind u can will get nt/lm hashes notedown. If ophcrack doest help to crack it using other software.

Recovering Windows XP/Vista passwd Part 1

Here i am going to start a series of posts on how to recover/reset windows nt/xp/vista password
Part 1:
here we are going to use an old linux utility chntpw to reset user password

Requirements

Physical access to the windows box.
CD drive nd cd bootable bios settings.
Live linux boot disk with most common disk drivers and chntpw download it from here.
A little time.

Procedure

Download the 3mb linux image from above link.
Extract the zip file to get the iso image.
Burn iso image using ur favorite burner.
Change bios settings to boot from cd drive before HDD.
If bios is protected with password, remove case find the battery on motherboard, take it out, u may also change jumper near to it.
put the newly burned cd to drive, restart the computer,
when promted like "boot:" just hit enter (depends on ur hardware)
it will list the disk drives found...
enter the number corresponding to windows partion + enter
when promted for path, /windows/system32/config is the deafult hit enter
choose password rest on the next option.
then edit user data and passwords
it will list all users on the system, enter the user name or RID which s shown right of each user.
Now u will option to set/reset password, promote user etc. best choice is to reset password of admin since set passwrd may not work in xp or higher
u can repeat for more users . at end quit by "!".
again quit by "q", it will ask for saving changes press "y".

that s it...
Next post i will tell u how to find the passwords (no reset )...

Get internal ip a quik trick

This is a quick trick to get the internal ip of a web server. This works on apache servers with no custom 404 or other pages
i accidently found this wen i was searching for internal ip of server.com. I got confused wen i saw a lot of internal server having same pages as server.com . The trick is enter
server.com/show_internal_ip
then u get an error page that requested page not found (404)...Read da last lines he he gotchaaa...

I got hands on some php stuff today and updated mobile site with registered user database and now visitors can register their mobile number in the site and start sending messages from their own number instead of 'Maxter' as sender . Mobile number confirmation is done by sending a sms with confirmation code to mobile number . Then user has to confirm his number to start sending sms.

Putty on Airtel Live (GPRS)

Many of you already knew about putty. If dont , putty is very nice SSH/Telnet/Rlogin client for windows as well as *nix operating systems. It also features raw socket connection and serial port communication. Here I shows how to use it completely free on Airtel Live GPRS profile ( APN: airtelfun.com) .

Don't have putty with you get it from here
The trick works through the live proxy server. You need to open up putty , on the side bar expand connection , then click on the proxy menu .

Choose proxy type as HTTP
Give '100.1.200.99' ( Live proxy ) as your proxy host name
Give '8080' as proxy port

If you are having airtel ( live) gprs only and no other connection then you can save the proxy settings on the default so we dont have enter every time we need to connect

Goto 'Connection' in left panel and give the proxy settings as given above
Come back to 'Session' panel
Give a name to your settings in the 'saved session' textbox and click save
Next time wen u open up putty click on the saved sessions and click load
Thats its!!!

Try telnet to freeshell.org and register a new account

open up putty in the 'sessions' settings type 'freeshell.org' as hostname
select telnet as connection type (note :- port automatically change to 23)

Hacking CS-Cart

Two months back wen i was talking to one of my cyber friend who s working for http://hoston24.com (a leading hosting and web solution provider in kerala) he told me about his new project a e commerce site. later he hosted a test version on one of their server. Wen i check it i found dat he uploaded the whole source over der as a zip file and got unzipeed on server itself.. so i downloaded its copy and planned instal it on my local server
opened the installation wizard "install.php" n successfully configured and i was planning to play around it.
Wen i was trying to configure the settings we need to enter the auth code to change settings...
Suddenly hacker inside me got up and told me wait dont enter the code lets find some other way...
so i kept auth code field blank and pressed next button
On the next page i got an error message that auth code not valid with some information about the server and two buttons "back" and "next" also "next button was disabled.. so thought of injecting some xcodes to authcode field..... ooohhh wait i forgot to check the html code for the page ... so i took firebug (A very useful and great plugin for ff) and started to explore it .... Now i change some html tags of page to by pass the disabled next button... I thought it would give a big error... ny way i got to try that

so i edited the html and got "next" button enabled and to my great surprise i got the next page with mysql username, password , and host of the victim...

This exploit could be used to steal the information from database very easily....

Solution :- Remove "install.php" as soon as you configured correctly . Better is to move it to some other location or rename it.

Today i was playing with google adsense and fitting an banner on the leftt side ... i had to tamper all css settings of my blog ,but my backup saved me.

Here is my first j2me library for j2me developers...This library will mainly help airtel/gprs programmers who is interested in developing applications for mobile phones.
This library will provide a tool like proxyfier for j2me applications.Jar archive consists of two classes 'settings' and 'TCPconnection' in org.proxybypass package

Settings Class
Mainly to specify the proxy and proxy port number
Constructor
settings set= new settings(String proxyip, String proxyport)

note port is of String type

TCPconnection
Core of the Library to provide the tcp connection through the proxy

Constructor
TCPconnection mytcp = new TCPconnetion( Settings set,String server, String port)
set :is the settings class with proxy ip and porxy port
server :-Server to communicate with
port :- Port of the server

Methods

boolean makeinit()

method to initialize the connection returns true when successfully connected else returns false
this should called before calling any other methods given below

InputStream getInputStream()

Method to get the input stream for reading from server

OutputStream getOutputStream()

Method to get Output stream for writing to the server

Tough this will allow any tcp connections, to achieve a succesful http communication we need some more tricky manipulation in the http request headers abt that i will disscuss later

This s my first post in dis year... this time, i am with some new stuff for airtel users...
most of u know about free airtel gprs ( though speed sucks these days) this time an smpp application that can be used in airtel live profile free...
I was having my vacation these days and planned to learn something new ... so i took .net ,and give a try... i knew little about visual basic so i choose vb.net as my language.... downloaded visual studio 2008 n some e books. To my surprise .net is pretty powerful and easy IDE with lot of help from MSDN....
So here is my first Application. Its an SMPP(Short Message Peer to Peer) Client...
Feature, Limitations n Requirements

This can work in an airtel live profile free of cost
Bind mode is Transmitter only
Can send picture message, wap push , flash messages
No need for other softwares like proxifier or proxyfirewall to bypass airtel proxy
Based on .net v2.0
Requires Sql Server Compact edition
